FACILITATOR CONTRACT

Facilitator-Led Spiritual First Aid Community Workshop Course

This Facilitator Contract (“Contract”) is entered into between Spiritual First Aid (“SFA”) and the undersigned Facilitator regarding the delivery of the official Spiritual First Aid Community Workshop (“Workshop”). By signing below, the Facilitator acknowledges and agrees to all terms and conditions described herein.

1. Facilitator Requirements and Responsibilities

1.1 Training and Certification

Facilitator shall:

  • Successfully complete the Spiritual First Aid Community Certificate Course.
  • Complete all facilitator training tutorials provided by SFA before facilitating any Workshop.

1.2 Participant Registration Compliance

Facilitator agrees to:

  • Require all participants to officially register at spiritualfirstaid.org using valid, authorized registration codes.
  • Purchase additional official participant registration codes from SFA as necessary.

1.3 Workshop Integrity

Facilitator shall:

  • Adhere strictly to the official Workshop curriculum, including its established structure, guidelines, recommended schedules, and delivery formats.
  • Ensure no alterations or omissions are made to the official Workshop materials.

1.4 Authorized Use of Materials

Facilitator agrees to:

  • Only use official SFA-provided Workshop materials as intended.
  • Clearly distinguish any supplemental resources from official SFA materials, understanding that supplemental resources are intended solely to support, not replace, official materials.

2. Prohibited Activities

Facilitator explicitly agrees not to engage in any of the following activities, understanding that violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of facilitator privileges or further appropriate action by SFA:

2.1 Unauthorized Resource Changes

Facilitators shall not edit, delete, rearrange, or add to the Workshop slide deck (including presentation slides, videos, session helping scenarios), Participant Guide, or resources contained within the accompanying on-demand course.

2.2 Unauthorized Distribution

Facilitator shall not distribute, share, or disclose official Workshop materials or content to any individual not officially registered.

2.3 Curriculum Modification

Facilitator shall not alter, modify, selectively omit, or otherwise deviate from the official Workshop content provided by SFA.

2.4. Unapproved Integration

Facilitator shall not incorporate official SFA materials or resources into external or unrelated training programs without explicit written authorization from SFA.

2.5 Derivative Content Creation

Facilitator shall not create, reproduce, distribute, or use derivative materials based on SFA content without explicit prior authorization from SFA.

2.6 Extraction of Content

Facilitator shall not extract portions of official Workshop materials for independent use outside the complete Workshop experience.

3. Intellectual Property Rights

3.1 Ownership

Facilitator acknowledges that all materials provided by SFA are protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws, and remain the sole property of SFA.

3.2 Usage Restrictions

Facilitator shall not reproduce, modify, distribute, or integrate SFA materials into other programs or distribute them publicly without prior written consent from SFA.

3.3 Spiritual First Name, Logo, and Branding Restrictions
The use of the Spiritual First Aid name, logo, and branding (e.g., official colors and fonts) is restricted to Workshop marketing, recruitment, registration, and promotional assets and activities only. They should not be applied to any non-Spiritual First aid materials (e.g., facilitator or host organization-generated handouts, slides, resources).

4. Permitted Adaptations, Supplemental Resources, and Usage Requests

4.1 Permissible Adaptations

Facilitators may choose from approved SFA bonus helping scenarios to use during the Helping Lab session portion of the Workshop.

4.2 Helping Lab Scenarios

Facilitators may create their own Helping Scenarios for use during the Helping Lab session only, and subject to having:

  • Followed the directions outlined in the Creating Helping Scenario Guidelines provided later in this training.
  • Clearly identified and delineated that the helping scenarios were created by the facilitator or host organization by labeling them as such (the SFA name, logo, images, and branding [e.g., official colors and fonts] may not be applied).

4.3 Supplemental Resources and Handouts

Facilitators may include supplemental training resources such as facilitator or host handouts at the check-in area:

  • These materials may be briefly verbally referenced to by the facilitator throughout the Workshop, but should not be utilized further until after the Workshop has been completed in full (see permissible bonus training guidelines below for more).
  • Facilitator or host uses their names and logos and does not apply the SFA name, logos, images, or branding (e.g., official colors or fonts).
  • We recommend distributing during check-in either as a facilitator or host-identified packet, as loose-leaf resources, or include in a folder pocket on the opposite side of any official SFA materials (including the Participant Packet).
  • Once all Workshop sessions and Helping Lab are complete, the facilitator is free to utilize these additional resources as long as it is made clear that the resources are facilitator or host-generated and not a part of the official Workshop.

4.4 Bonus Facilitator or Host-Generated Training

Facilitators have permission to supplement the official Workshop by providing up to 90 minutes of additional bonus facilitator or host-generated training after the Workshop has been completed in full, when the independent training content is:

  • Introduced as a “bonus session(s)” at which time the facilitator shall make clear who created the material,s both verbally and on materials used (e.g., slides, handouts).
  • Congruent with SFA guiding principles and practices.
  • Clearly identified and delineated as separate from the Workshop.
  • Presented using non-SFA naming, logos, or branding (e.g., official SFA colors or fonts).

5. Custom Workshop Development and Branding

We recognize that some organizations may have unique training needs that would benefit from greater customization than the permissible adaptations outlined in this contract. Our team is glad to explore and consider your needs further and may be available to contract with your organization to offer further curriculum development and design services. Please note that this is a premium service and will require additional time, budget, and commitment from your organization. This allows SFA to better understand and serve your organization, ensuring the final product aligns with our curriculum and design standards while maintaining curriculum fidelity.

6. Termination of Facilitator Privileges

SFA reserves the right to terminate Facilitator privileges immediately upon violation of any term outlined within this Contract.

7. Facilitator Agreement and Acknowledgement

Facilitator hereby acknowledges having read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to all terms, conditions, and responsibilities outlined in this Facilitator Contract.
